Ostrynka is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Janów, within Sokó¿ka County, Podlaskie Voivodeship, in north-eastern Poland. It lies approximately 8 kilometres (5 mi) south-east of Janów, 15 km (9 mi) west of Sokó¿ka, and 35 km (22 mi) north of the regional capital Biäystok. Gmina Janów is a rural gmina (administrative district) in Sokó¿ka County, Podlaskie Voivodeship, in north-eastern Poland. Its seat is the village of Janów, which lies approximately 21 kilometres (13 mi) west of Sokó¿ka and 39 km (24 mi) north of the regional capital Biäystok. The gmina covers an area of 207.84 square kilometres (80.2 sq mi), and as of 2006 its total population is 4,427. The gmina contains part of the protected area called Puszcza Knyszy¿ska Landscape Park.
